2 Troopers Assaulted During 'Disturbance': PA State Police

Two Pennsylvania State Troopers were hurt and at least one was disarmed while responding to a "disturbance" in Chambersburg, according to a release by state police on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

The incident happened at 1252 Apple Tree Lane in Greene Township around 6:25 p.m. on June 4, 2023, as detailed in the release.

Makaela Reiner, 24, of Chambersburg, assaulted Troopers Christopher Alleman and Catherine Miller while being arrested for aggravated assault, according to the release. 

Reiner has been charged with the following according to her court docket:

  • Two felony counts of aggravated assault to cause or causes serious bodily injuries to designated individuals.
  • Felony disarming a law enforcement officer without lawful authorization. 
  • Misdemeanor resisting arrest or other law enforcement. 

She has been held in the Franklin County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail as set by Magisterial District Judge Jody C. Eyer, who she'll appear before again for her preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. on June 13, 2023, court records show. 

The troopers' injuries are reportedly minor.
